Zeiss LSM 980 Upright Confocal Microscope

The LSM 980 is the first upright laser-scanning confocal microscope at the Core Facilities equipped with an Airyscan 2 detector, a 2-photon Ti-Sapphire Laser, 2 PMTs and a 32-channel GaAsP array spectral detector

System Features:

  • Upright confocal microscope with 10x, 20x and 40x dipping objectives
  • Equipped with a Ti-Sapphire laser (Spectra-Physics) for 2-photon and label-free second harmonic generation imaging
  • The Airyscan 2 detector provides sub-diffraction limited imaging down to 120 nm (XY) and 350 nm (Z) resolution
  • The Airyscan 8Y-Multiplex Mode allows confocal imaging with over 47 frames per second for a frame size of 512x512
  • The Zen Blue software offers intuitive tiling and has a sample navigator for fast, easy overview
  • Combination of Airyscan Multiplex Mode, high-precision Prior Z-stage, and 2-photon laser offers high-speed multi-photon imaging
